Pregnancy...social services (uk)?

im 33 weks pregnant and up until about a week ago i hant had any midwife appointments..this was because my letters from the hospital were getting sent to my old adress and whenever i called they said i had to be refered by my gp again for missing the appiontment, then the same thing would happen...even though i told the doctors several time i had changed my address they kept sending them to the old adress anyway i decided to take it apon myself and contact another hospital directly and make an appointment with them rather than having to be reffered by my doctor each time, anyway at my appointment the midwife said because i hadnt seen a midwife until then (even though i was advised by many people that having a midwife was optional) she was going to report me to social services!! and apprently this was a standard thing as i was seen as a 'risk' because of this. i am fuming and feel im being told im a risk to my child!! its really upset me and my family cannot believe im having social services involved with me before my childs even born it makes me sound like a terrible mother! is this really a standard procedure...or was she just saying that? ive never done anything to make me be seen as a risk, i dont drink, dont take drugs never been in trouble with the police for any reason!
