Why are some parents looking for role models for there children with celebrities?

Seriously parents should stop looking for a celebrity to raise there children .....like for example Miley Cyrus got caught smoking out a bong and the parents were like "Omg why she's my Childs role model why she do that now my child is going to smoke out a bong too!!" Seriously like common parents you should be your own child role model you teach them right from wrong not a 18 year old ignorant girl!!......I been seeing that so much it's ridiculous........what's your opinion on that????
